Jupiter entered Cancer June 25, having spent the previous 12 months in Gemini. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, and considered the planet of luck, gain, expansion and finance/money.
While in Gemini, Jupiter was considered in its detriment, meaning the energy did not work well, but it has been expanding our mind, writing, talk/communication of all types and opportunities to learn in some manner as well as intellectual/speaking abilities. Home and Family
Cancer is the natural ruler of the fourth house of home and family, and ruled by the moon and the changeable luminary favors women who will likely achieve some prominent roles in society under this influence.
Cancer is the most sensitive signs of the zodiac, and Jupiter expands whatever it touches. Cancer rules motherhood and is considered an emotionally nurturing sign, and is the most patriotic of the signs.
Expect a return to a greater focus on home and family. Motherhood may play a more prominent role in society along with women, and those who work from home. It would not surprise me if a record number of babies are born this year! Family and roots will take on special meaning for many.
This Jupiter placement favors water signs and especially Cancer. Cancer is a protective sign and it is possible under this aspect some of the less fortunate in our society/world will receive societal protection of some type over the next year.
July's Grand Trine-Favorable
During July, Jupiter becomes part of the grand water trine involving Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter, meaning the combined energies of these three planets will work in great harmony. This will be a very favorable transit if you have water signs placed at 2-6 degrees. Mars in Cancer joins the mix the weekend of July 20-21 just as Mercury turns direct, and this promises to be a notable time if you have placements in water in the above mentioned degrees. This transit aspects the financial planets of the US favorably.
Jupiter/Pluto/Uranus challenging cycles
The first two weeks of August Jupiter forms an opposition with Pluto, meeting great resistance during this period. On a world level we will see tense issues concerning governments and laws, money and issues with 'homelands.' As Cancer is about patriotism, look for patriotism to return not only to America but counties along the globe. One persons definition of patriotism may not conform to the others.
Astrologer Michael Baigent relates this 12 year cycle to the growth of international terrorism and relates it to plutocratic as well as political power and of many types. In the US chart (Sibly chart) there will be issues concerning the law, laws and courts and escalating situations abroad. I expect major developments to occur around August 1-3, and around August 8.
DuringAugust Jupiter will square Uranus, oppose Pluto and become part of a Cardinal T-square involving these two outer planet, and Baigent relates this cycle to growth and expansion of the human consciousness. But, it is also a cycle that can bring change and fluctuation in the economic markets and Uranus is unpredictable. It can represent a rebellion against the status quo and extremist behaviors. Baigent wrote, " In a society in crisis it can cause highly volatile situations to erupt without warning and an atmosphere of acute tension, In this state it has a particularly war mongering potential." This cycle can also relate to major technological advances, space, and widespread rebellions worldwide. There could be changes in the television and broadcast industries.
In April 2014, Uranus, Pluto and Jupiter will come together in a T-square again, that will also involve Mercury and Mars, and the period around the April eclipse has the potential to create global changes in the areas of governments, finance and laws and it will affect the US directly.
Jupiter was last in Cancer July 2001-August 02'. Situations (relationships also) that were established during this period will be experiencing a Jupiter return and may blossom or take on new life. Jupiter was also in Cancer August 1989-August 1990.
