Tarot: The Hermit, reversed. It’s a ‘Trump Card’, so this is about you and how you’re relating to the circumstances and people around you.
The Hermit carries a light so he can find his way; and to help others find theirs. He leads a solitary life of quiet introspection and seeking. Yet, he’s always ready to share his wisdom and enlightenment with those who are on their own spiritual journey of awareness and self-discovery.
However, when the Hermit’s reversed it means you’re not following what your intuition and spirit are trying to tell you. You may be asking for guidance, but you’re resisting and challenging what’s being given.
You may be deep in denial; trying to outline or dictate to the Universe what you’ll accept and on what terms. This is a struggle with yourself that you can’t win.
The energy of the Hermit signifies you’re on a spiritual journey, a quest. And, just as with any journey, once you embark on this adventure you must see it through to the end. Otherwise, your spirit goes into crisis, you may get lost and find yourself spiraling into darkness and despair instead of rising into enlightened awareness.
Perhaps you’ve found yourself surrounded by people you don’t trust. They may be untrustworthy, but remember you attracted them into your life. The truth is ‘like attracts like’; so it really means you’re not trusting yourself and your own judgment.
You may be feeling alone and isolated. These feelings usually mean you’re isolating yourself as you withdraw from the people and things you used to enjoy. Maybe you feel you have something to hide; perhaps it’s insecurity or embarrassment.
Either way, shining your light on these feelings and emotions will reveal the truth to you, allowing you to clear and heal their causes.
The reversed Hermit usually indicates you’re following your ego, and not your true self. When the ego’s in charge, truth, clarity and wisdom are compromised; and you find yourself making poor choices and impulsive decisions; which ultimately lead to confusion, low self-esteem and a loss of self-confidence.
Perhaps you feel like you’re caught in a repeating cycle of relationships, behaviours and events; and it’s driving you crazy. Yes, it is!
Isn’t that what Einstein defined as insanity: doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result! Don’t you think it’s time you got off of the merry-go-round and started moving forward?
With this energy, you may develop a suspicious nature; or create suspicion around you with questionable behaviors and actions. In a less severe display of this energy, your behaviors may simply appear immature, fearful and insecure. But the result is the same; people just don’t feel comfortable around and about you; they may question your ability to perform as expected.
Under this influence, you may be trying to do everything yourself. Your resources may be inadequate, but your pride and independence won’t allow you to ask for, or admit you need help. Instead you just keep banging your head against the proverbial wall.
Hey…snap out of it! You’re not fooling anyone but yourself. Put your ego back where it belongs and open your mind to the truth. We all need help sometime. No one knows everything, and no man or woman is an island!
Open your mind and see that there’s help all around you. The strength of the Hermit will help you change the things you can; he’ll give you the courage to accept the things you can’t change; and provide the wisdom to help you to know the difference!
He’s holding the light so you can find your way in the darkness. All you have to do is go to the light and follow his lead!
Ascended One Kuthumi says ‘Stay Focused’. This is a reminder to stay focused upon your intentions, desires and priorities. Don’t allow yourself to be distracted by short-term situations, dramas or other people’s demands.
Keep a positive outlook about your dreams, and imagine that they’ve already manifested into reality. Devote regular amounts of time toward your projects and priorities. Say ‘no’ to distractions and you will see results.
Be assertive with demands upon your time. Keep your promises to yourself. Spend time each day devoted to projects that are dear to your heart. Detoxify your diet to help your mind to be clear and focused.
Apollo says ‘Focus on Your Strengths’. This is a reminder to focus on your strengths, and not on any ‘perceived’ weaknesses. Your strengths could include your loving heart, pure intentions, people skills, hobbies, or something you excel in. Even if your talents still need polishing, these are strengths and assets.
The more you bless and appreciate your strengths, the stronger they’ll grow. If you focus on so-called weaknesses, they’ll grow too. It’s important to view yourself with compassion and love. Anytime you find yourself thinking or feeling poorly about yourself, focus on your strengths instead.
Use positive affirmations and prayer to lift your energy and faith daily. Always speak of yourself in positive terms. Begin an exercise program to build and tone your muscles. This could be a message of love and healing about a brother or brother figure.
Ascended One Oshun says ‘Drink More Water’. This message means your body is thirsty for pure water. Symptoms such as fatigue, difficulty in concentrating, irritation, and excessive hunger can actually be dehydration in disguise.
Water helps you flush harsh energies and toxins that your sensitive body might otherwise absorb. Bless your water before drinking it to give yourself a boost of positive energy.
It suggests a need to spend time near water; an ocean, lake or river; even rainfall is significant. You may need a water purifier to avoid drinking toxic, chemical laden water; and avoid things like soda, coffee or alcohol. Sweating through exercise, a steam bath, sauna or sweat lodge would be helpful too.♥
