The popular media is typically conveyed through that idiot box sitting in the living room of most North American's homes, although through the Internet and books, as well.

So what has the popular media done for you lately, ladies?

Well, it has taught through fictional characters who never have to live with the consequences of their behavior, that you should embrace random hook-ups with random men in order to make yourself feel "desirable;" that you should not need or even want a man in your life.

Popular media has taught you that if you have curves, you're fat, if you're not at war with men, you're a traitor and if you have strong maternal instincts, you're weak.

Popular media has shamed you for wanting to stay home and care for children. It has taught you that if you invest in your man and support his career you're collaborating with the enemy. It's convinced you that you should hold a full time job, come home, cook all the meals, do all the cleaning, spend less than an hour a day with your children day everything will turn out great!

It's taught you that when your children naturally start having behavioral problems because of a lack on attention, love and parenting, the answer is a little anti-depressant pill or maybe even psychotropic drugs!

Popular media has taught you that you if you don't wear the right clothes, you're not worthy to be seen, and worse yet, won't get the man you're not supposed to want!

If the popular media is telling you that you can "have it all," obviously you can. And you if find yourself questioning this insane pace of life, there must be something wrong with you!

Popular media has trained you that your perfectly natural instincts are only a social construct, and that any indulgence in them is defecting to tyranny.

It has brainwashed you into thinking that even the desire to please your man is inherently wrong. You are made to feel stupid, broken, and backwards.

Popular media has taught the men, again through fictional characters who never have to live with the consequences of their behavior, that children are optional at best, disposable at worst. It's conditioned men to avoid responsibility and trick women to get sex, and to move on when the woman naturally desires more commitment!

Popular media has taught men they have no role in child-rearing, the shape of their children's character or any bearing on their children's future course in life.

Popular media has conditioned men to look at women, not as soft, loving blessings in their lives, but as men with boobs.Men have been directed that women don't really want flowers, cards, gifts, perfumes or stuffed animals. Despite the obvious physiological differences, men have been trained that women can do everything men can, including heavy lifting, and spatially-oriented tasks. Men have been educated that women have no need to be cherished, protected, cared for or treated gently, much to both genders misery!

Maybe it's time to rethink what messages you are letting into the garden of your mind through "Popular Media"?
