Prince Henry (Uncle Harry)
British royalty, the second son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, known as Prince Harry. He is currently
thirdfourth in line for the throne after his father,his brother William, and newest royal arrival, Prince George.Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, once differentiated Harry from his older brother by the label "the naughty one." In 2001, the then-16-year old was caught smoking pot and drinking, causing his father, Prince Charles, to take him for a Scared-Straight session. After an education at various schools around the United Kingdom and spending parts of his gap year in Australia and Lesotho, Harry opted for a military career, undergoing officer training at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
He was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the Blues and Royals of the Household Cavalry Regiment—serving temporarily with his brother—and completed his training as a tank commander. In 2007–2008 he served for 77 days on the front line in the Afghan War, although he was pulled out following publication of the story in an Australian magazine. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–2013.
He and his girlfriend of more than three years, Chelsy Davy, split in Novembe4 2007. She was the daughter of a Zimbabwe safari company and they had shared a love of the outdoors.
