Most psychics learn at a young age, that people lie. And in a world dominated by non-psychics, this is to be expected. After all, non-psychics cannot watch someone's aura drop several colors from bright yellow to dull orange in a matter of seconds. The lie doesn't grate on their nerves, like nails on a chalkboard, like it does for intuitives.
Some natural psychics learn to deal with other people's lie by constant confrontation. But of course, this comes with a heavy cost, emotionally and socially. Smart Intuitives usually learn to gracefully ignore harmless lies.
The real mystery, is why paying customers would choose to lie. Now, don't get me wrong, I pick up all kinds of information from other people constantly. It really is none of my business, but I perceive it anyway. I keep much more to myself than I ever tell my customers. The information simply does not pertain to the reading.
Customers who lie usually start out as happy ones, who listen to your advice and follow it in the beginning. But then they start disregarding you. This almost always leads to them blaming you when things don't turn out as they want.
The type of lying I'm talking about is like the 'testing the psychic' mentality on steroids. You have good rapport with them and have no reason to suspect that they would deceive you. For whatever reason, maybe because of the influence of another, they decide they are going to 'trick' you and prove that you have no psychic ability!
I've never understood this. While I certainly don't need or want to know every subtle nuisance of my customers lives, blatant lies are pathetic. What am I supposed to do with a blatant lie designed to trick me? I have two choices, ignore it and risk them thinking I'm a fraud or confronting them. Either one is uncomfortable.
Let's say I confront them: they have two choices, admit it or continue to lie about it. Either one is uncomfortable for them as well and puts serious strain on a tenuous professional relationship.
I almost always choose to ignore blatant lies. Soon enough the customer will see what I've predicted come to pass and I will be vindicated.
I really don't want or need to know all your personal business as your psychic. But please do yourself the favor of avoiding blatant lies, especially those designed to 'test me.' I might still try to help you, at least for a while. But you make my job much harder. I will be honest and truthful with you. Please be honest and truthful with me.
