IS - Probably slowly distroying us, eating away at us like the

horrible secret that we think it is... When in truth: IT REALLY

IS AS BAD AS IT APPEARS TO US.  It's not just looking

and feeling bad . . This situation we are in - IS A TOXIC,

PAINFUL Combination of Shame and never ending

torment.

I have lived it first hand, I have felt the shame, fear, panic

and sheer desperation  . . As I tried to help my loved one

when he was not even close to being ready to help himself.

LONELY : IS A GREAT WORD TO DESCRIBE OUR SUFFERING.

BUT THE CONCERN AND ANXIOUS WORRYING FOR HIS

WELL BEING, MY DESIRE AND DRASTIC ATTEMPTS AT

TRYING TO SAVE HIM ,  IS WHAT ALMOST KILLED ME,

As I refused to give up on him / Our realtionship or the

overly optimistic belief that " THIS MAN WILL BE HEALED."

I WILL BE SUCESSFUL AT ENCOURAGING THEN

BRINGING ABOUT HIS TRANSFORMATION.

ALMOST  . . . OOOH I CAME SO CLOSE... AND IF IT

WASN'T FOR THAT "LITTLE THING" CALLED DESTINY, AND

'CAUSE AND EFFECT' I still believe I would have been

successful. 

But... Something interrupted my plans. 

I know now I could not have done a thing to stop it.

Sadly, He passed away from an undetected Ilness related to

his addiction.

What is it about an addict that makes so many

of us want to be the ones to save them?

why do we so badly crave to be the ones that  

GET TO SAY " I HAVE RESCUED THIS

PERSON "?

First, we must take a good long look within ourselves.

Why do we feel the urge to

RESCUE THIS PERSON ?

What we are really doing is trying to rescue them from

themselves . . . 

DO WE REALLY BELIEVE WE WILL SUCCEED

IN THAT CAPACITY, WHEN WE DON'T EVEN

KNOW YET WHAT IT IS THE ADDICT IS TRYING

TO AVOID FEELING ...
