What is it that you commonly place focus on when you are getting a reading? Do you look over profiles? Feedback? Do you check their credentials or email them to have a quick conversation with them?
Many of you have a set of things you look for when getting a reading but very few pay close attention to the question that you ask.
When I was going through my certification for Tarot Counseling a large section was devoted to guiding clients on how to ask the right question. This was pressed upon us students because of the truly valuable impact asking the right question has upon a reading; it can quite literally make the difference between a lackluster reading and a transformative experience.
For example if a client asks “will I get married?” the answer is nearly always going to be yes and I do not even need to do a reading to tell you that. Just like if you ask “will I come into unexpected money?”
Chances are you will, at some point in your life, find yourself walking down a street and low and behold before you is a dollar bill on the ground.
Just like if you are inquiring about whether or not you will ever get married that lets me know that you have a pretty strong desire for the institution and will make it happen; even in cases where perhaps it shouldn’t.
The greatest flaw with asking questions like those above is that intuitive or psychic output is quite dependent on the input. Like a computer if you put in a vague command the return is going to be equally vague. Asking whether you will come across unexpected money is a bit open ended; it’s like asking if you will ever sneeze again. It doesn’t take a true psychic to answer either of those and frankly it doesn’t truly answer your question.
Asking whether or not you will marry the current person you are with is getting a bit clearer. Asking if you will come into enough money to pay the car note by the end of the month is a question worthy and capable of a clear answer.
I understand that many form their question purposefully vague but that is a bit like paying for a sandwich that you do not truly want. If you are that skeptical of the reader you are paying then it is a sign that perhaps you should not be paying them or that a break from readings is necessary. Your question should be clear, to the point and reflective of what you truly need to know.
