Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it just says, I’ll start again tomorrow. – Mary Ann Radmacher
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. Steve Jobs
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen Winston Churchill
First let me say I do not have cancer right now; or a blocked carotid artery, or spinal meningitis, or any of the other diseases that the dark tried to destroy me with over my 60 years of life. Knowing this has given me the confidence, the courage, the desire to live each moment, no matter what the problem, no matter what the situation, with a desire to just as in an 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, just find the right corner piece to build the foundation on to win! Still being alive tells me to keep on booking toward finding a way to help each person spirit sends to me find the peace, the spiritual path to get each one through the pain, the rough patches until we reach the destiny.
We all have so much to say. Most often we are thinking of what we want to say back, or how we want to react to something we’ve read or heard . We don’t have courage to listen because either we think we already know all the answers, or we don’t want to know the truth. Still, no matter how we try to run from our path, not our sisters, not our brother’s, not our friends, or the person down the street’s, we have to face our own path. We can’t be jealous, envious, bitter, even worried about the life path others we know are facing because even when life seems golden in someone else’s world, each person has a battle, a “thorn in our side” ( apostle Paul 2 Cor 12:7) , Even the great master Buddha has a “thorn in the side”. Mara, the demon of greed, lust, lies. There is a great story of Mara coming to demand tea with Buddha. Mara wanted to trade places with Buddha, because he was having trouble with people listening to Mara. Yet Buddha, even, in his compassion to the demon, said “Oh you don’t want to be me. People don’t listen to me at all, in fact, even try to change my words to what they want to hear.”. Courage takes listening, following, doing.
Animal totems: Toucan : Bro Toucan is bright, colorful, healing . His screech is loud. Everything this totem is screams pay attention to Me. For many moons, many cultures have used the toucan at the very top of the totem pole, so that the god of the totem can be seen, felt , heard. His medicine teaches us that if we don’t listen to the quiet voice within, the spirit will start shouting or letting us see the movement of spirit in our lives.
