Soulmate vs Friendzone! (Mis)Understanding Soulmate Readings... 2 of Hearts & 6 of Hearts

You hug, you touch, you snuggle. He opens doors. She makes dinners.

We’ve all been there. We just know he or she is “the one”. We feel the connection. We can talk for hours. We call each other all day and night. He/she understands us. Even when they stand, simply talking to us, we feel over the moon.

Its perfect.

So how is it they haven’t realized the depth of connection and professed love and desire?

So (of course), you call reader after reader; each one after the other reassures you that “You a-r-e soul mates. He w-i-l-l come around.” But when? And will it be in the way that you imagine? (Picket fence, key exchange?)

Twice in my life, I just KNEW that the man in question was MINE! I felt a deep and propelling connection and it overwhelmed me. On each of these occasions I went to a reader who verified my thoughts. She pulled cards that said “harmony and lovers” (2 of cups), along with the Arcana soul mate card, (6 of cups). Only further convincing me that we were “destined”.

Once, one of the men in question and I planned a Caribbean vacation, for which I shopped for a week: lingerie, sexy bikinis, scented soaps – you name it. We were going to profess our love and no one could convince me otherwise. And, (hello?), the readers had confirmed it!

Well, lets just say it was a fun vacation, but not for the reasons I’d hoped.

Upon realizing my motives, my friend spoke to me very gently over breakfast: He said, “I really love you, but not that way. You’re so special to me, but I don’t want to go there. I think it could ruin what we have.”

Now… close your eyes and imagine a boulder falling from the sky and crashing on top of your head. That would be just about what I felt in that moment. A BIG CRASH.

There I was, in my hot bathing suit, cute wide brimmed hat, nails polished, totally waxed – and totally ready. This – was - my - man. Why was he telling me that I was his friend?

It wasn’t until years later, when I understood the Tarot and Arcana systems on a deeper level, and began practicing the Cartomancy Divination System I learned from my mother and Grandmother, that I realized the cards I spoke of can denote multiple meanings, including deep and loving friendships, and/or even wonderful and prosperous business relationships.

The point is to consider, and TRULY UNDERSTAND, the card meanings. For example:

The Meaning of the 2 of Cups:

  • Deep emotional heart-to-heart relating and intimacy.
  • Reciprocal love.
  • Signifies two people who are willing to yield and compromise.
  • This card can even denote gazing into the eyes of the beloved and also having a feeling of completely merging with the beloved in a kiss.
The cartomancy meanings are almost exact. The meanings are almost exact, although (in my opinion) deeper and more practical:

The Meaning of the 2 of Hearts (2 ♥):

  • Can represent news, and specifically indicates a love letter, or good news from or about a loved one.
  • Can also indicate a joyous union, or the happy solution to a problem.
  • Represents the emotions.
  • Specifically, it is a card of emotional excitement and expectancy.
  • Represents emotional attachment to a pet.
  • Represents the elation one experiences with the first sparks of a physical attraction, and can denote a romantic fling.
  • Denotes fun and laughter, and can indicate entertaining pastimes such as hobbies, games, crafts, etc.

The point is that the appearance of “soul mate” cards in a reading can often speak for more than a soul mate, i.e. a meaningful relationship at work, a person that you have strong emotional ties to, or even a pet that you love and are connected to on a deep level! It is surrounding cards that will denote the full meaning of the message. And THAT is where a skilled and insightful reader is required.

Even further, the most prominent, and sometimes misleading cards in both the Cartomancy (playing card deck), and the Tarot is the 6 of Cups/6 of Hearts. While, in general, the Number 6 symbolizes psychology, harmony, balance, communion, connection, love, trust, sincerity and truth. One can be misled into thinking that the appearance of these cards is a clear indication that of a life partner when the divine could be simply giving you conformation that you have a deep and lasting friendship.

  • In the Tarot the 6 of Cups is the soul mate card in the deck, often signifying an emotional bond that survives death.

  • It’s usually a sign of great emotional intimacy in the relationship. If it shows up reversed, it could be a sign that you are hankering after a past love. Ill dignified it could be a sign that you two are star-crossed lovers.
  • To a single person it could indicate that they long for and/or are about the meet their soul mate. Surrounding cards will tell you. The 6 of Cups can also signify ecstasy and intoxication to the bedroom.

In the Cartomancy system, however, traditionally the 6 ♥ represents the male gender, the "masculine side," and all things male.

  • The 6 ♥ can refer to male loved one in the seeker's life such as a boyfriend, male friend, brother, son, etc. 6 ♥ is a card of happiness and enduring love. It can denote a positive, happy environment unless surrounded by unfavorable cards.

  • The 6 ♥ represents an emotional connection, and can indicate a romantic relationship or a love affair. This card denotes faith, trust, sympathy, sincerity, and compassion.

  • In questions about the gender of an unborn child, this care indicates a male. BUT, moreover, the 6 ♥ can also represent anything generally associated with the male gender such as a necktie, cufflinks, boutonnière, toolbox, etc.

These are partial meanings. But I think the jest is clear: the “union” cards can speak of loving attachment in friendship as well as romance. It requires a skilled reader to know how to decipher the surrounding cards and reveal to you your specific divination.

In other words, just because you pull a romance or soul mate card, does not automatically indicate a romantic relationship, but, with that, it does usually indicate a very, very deep bond.

In my case, I am still very close to my friend. However, these days, we laugh about that trip as we tell his wife of our old adventures.

*Remember, all of my opinions about the Tarot are completely biased as I read and much prefer the Divination of Cartomancy using regular old playing cards. That said, if you want to understand more about your relationship in question, please don't hesitate to call me.

Reviews don't lie;v).

Best and love,
