~Learn the Tarot~The High Priestess

Card: 3
The High Priestess is one of the few cards in the Tarot that indicate psychic and prophetic occurrences on the part of the person getting the reading. Sometimes it can be on the part of another person, where it manifest as them being psychic, providing you with advice you need to hear, or providing you with spiritual guidance that you also need . This card is a good omen in most instances and is deeply tied to the psychic, spiritual and esoteric realms. If you're looking for a guru or considering being one yourself as a woman this is the card for you. It heralds the Moon mother, soulful, divine, female Goddess within all women at the primal level. It speaks to that which is unknown but KNOWN thanks to the female connection to the ethereal.

The general meaning of the High Priestess card, or rather the keywords associated with it include:

*Intuition
*Prophecy
*Second Sight
*Mysticism
*Pilgrimage of the Soul (NOT literal travel)
*PARANORMAL

The High Priestess in the past position tells us one of multiple things happened in your past-you realized your connection with the psychic realms and found you were psychic, clairvoyant, witchy, magical, connected to God/Allah/Buddha/Mother Earth/Father Sky/Vishnu/_____(fill in the blank) or that you had some sort of prophetic encounter that is undeniable. The prophetic occurrence I've also seen manifest as a religious, or spiritual happening, paranormal in nature. It's not uncommon for a person to pull the High Priestess in the past position when they've had a loved one pass on who then appeared to them, or did something to show their presence to the person getting the reading almost immediately after the person found out of their passing (which, they likely had a "feeling" about anyway).

In the present position the High Priestess tells us depending upon other cards surrounding her that you've got a psychic ability at present. It is is the divine opening you up for some reason, there is something you know that can't be proven but you're correct in what you're "feeling". ALTERNATIVELY, if the High Priestess is next to a female court card, or the Empress, then you're going to look towards the High Priestess being represented by the Queen she is near or the Empress. From there read up on the other card and it's astrological placement as well to get insight into who this person is. Lastly, when Judgement or Justice is near the High Priestess at present it tells us that you'll have good luck in legal dealings you're involved in, a woman will be the reason for this, that woman will be you, or someone else involved in the legal process (judge, lawyer, prosecutor, advocate). The moon paired with the High Priestess tells us your psychic ability is beyond correct, the two together tell us that you must not deny what you're thinking or feeling is happening, because you're being told form the divine the reality.

In the future position the High Priestess foretells of a spiritual, paranormal and psychic occurence or awakening in your life. If you've been searching for a religion, spiritual roots or belonging that you will be having that shortly. This card frequently appears in the future position for people who are interested in religion, as well as the meta-physical and occult, typically prior to the person really diving in to a spiritual arena that they will ultimately come very fanatical over.  The High Priestess next to the Five of Cups, is a bad omen, you know someone or yourself is over indulging in drugs or alcohol OR that they're suffering or will be suffering from emotional pain that is SEVERE and debilitating in nature. When she is next to the Three of Swords then you are right in your worries over your partner or love interest not being monogamous with you. The High Priestess next to the Lover or the Two of Cups indicates that you'll be meeting the "one" and you'll "know" it at first sight (or interaction). The High Priestess next to the Two of Wands tells us that you'll know of a business alliance that will do you well and you'll be able to bring that into fruition.

The High Priestess is a great card in any position because she carries with her messages, advice and counsel from the Divine. She should not be ignored, or later on you'll be thinking "I knew it".

This is one of the few cards in the Tarot that means "maybe" when considered for Yes or No interpretation, pull an additional card to get a clear idea of it's more likely yes, or more likely no, but do not hold it as an absolute as there is more information you're going to be provided with in the future that will effect the outcome. Thus, the maybe.
