A client called me last week and asked me about a man she had met through friends. She was happy to be getting out and the prospect of having a new relationship was exhilarating. Then she dropped the clincher, “I want to make sure this man will not hurt me and we can have a good relationship. Then I will decide if I want to be with him.”
I want a guarantee, at least that is how I define it. As a spiritual person and a psychic, there are very few guarantees, and this is not one of them.
Let me be clear that if you get involved with someone, sometimes they will hurt you.
It is only then will you get the good stuff. The good stuff meaning, companionship, trust, commitment, happiness, contentment, and a family.
I have noticed most of us have relationship “issues”, and it is because of this it makes us leery, as if we can not bear being hurt one more time. That is why we go slow, set boundaries and get to know someone slowly over time. Watch how they handle their lives, how they treat everyone from their family, to the waitress in a restaurant. Attaching too quickly or holding back will not bring you love.
It seems as if we are so afraid to fail or lose at love we want a guarantee before we know the person. That is why we date, to “try on people” to see how they fit. If they don’t let go. Move on, and next please!!
"Fear should be classed with stealing as it robs of so much", that is a quote from recovery literature. Fear of the unknown, losing, failing, or even winning. These fears can keep us from a cherished relationship, a financial or business goal, or a life long dream. Do you want it to? Any person would answer no to this question, and yet we dream dreams only to examine them and see ultimate failure. Or we don't examine them at all. I have been guilty myself.
As I go through life, I really am seeing, that what you believe you can be or do, is the truth. So if I believe I can meet someone I will love or live in France for a year, I will set up the circumstances for that to be my truth. I will refuse for example to change what needs to be changed in me to make it happen.
My own experiences have shown me that the changes need only to be small at first, I only need to be willing to believe it might be possible, that it could be done. Then work with one small piece to move in the direction. If I continue to see it and do those things it creates a fire that grows and changes the possiblity into a fact. I have done it myself.
