In side each of us is heartaches, pains, desires, hopes, fears, love. Our insides get tied up in turmoil, in knots as clearly as the knots in a rope tied to keep something bound . Yet, we have also in ourselves the ability to find a place within, that we can go to, as well as make a place of sanctuary to find a place of comfort in our outer environment. Perhaps it is a place of worship. Perhaps it is a place in our home, down by the river, the lake, or up to the top of the mountains. Even if we can’t physically go there right at the moment when we need to find peace, we can sit in quiet repose, clear our heart, our mind, center, rebalance before we make decisions, before we react, yes, even before we speak. More often than now, we as people react too quickly, take actions that later we regret because we are hurt, or angered. Our task, our mission, our true actions should be step back, look at everything as a third party observer, go into the inner room, or perhaps our chapel, our bedroom, where ever we can be quiet, be reflective, to reconsider what we are planning. Well, he/she did this, said that, deserves punishment. Ah, but he who is without … let him/her throw the first stone ( Jesus – John 8:7 ) We don’t have to take on the responsibility of punishing, of correcting, as Karma, that is what karma is all about, the actions will create reactions, will bring reprecussions. We just have to keep doing the right thing, no matter what others around us do. When we do the right thing, in our room, we can sleep at night, no matter what he/she, the world does, we won’t be afraid, we won’t have fear, we will have peace.
Animal totems: Sea Anemone - Sister Anemone is a sea fairy, a sea flower. She hides away in her room, of tide pools, where the sea opens doors to the Other side. Her medicine teaches us to open doors, but not rush through with actions, not try to take actions quickly without thought without love, without heart first.
