The planet Pluto describes the outward focus and core of every generation and Pluto in Virgo created a focus on work as well as health, and this generation also brought an awareness of natural remedies, alternative medicine and the benefits of exercise and staying healthy and changed the societal collective. But, those born in the mid-sixties were born into a changing world, just as individuals born today are, and they will share a similar generational transit of Pluto-Uranus, and in some way will relate to those born in the mid 1960's who will one day be their Great Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles.
We are in life altering times, and we will someday look upon this period as the precipice of change much like we look at the 1960's and the era of the Great Depression.
------------------------------
Change begins as Mercury enters Cancer May 31, slowing down Mercurial energy and becoming more emotional rather than logical as it was in Gemini. As we near the end of the month Mercury will retrograde in Cancer. All Mercury retrogrades this year occur in water signs.
As Mercury, then Venus, enter Cancer on June 2, each planet will trine Neptune, then Saturn, creating a softer more flowing energy especially good for water and earth signs, and is generally more indicative of harmony. June 3, Mercury, Saturn and Neptune are in a grand trine, and June 7th, Venus, Saturn, and Neptune are in harmony especially if aspecting your natal chart. These aspects are good a few days before and after the above dates. Also on June 7, Mercury opposes Pluto, and this can be a compulsive transit and we may have a desire to get to the bottom of an issue. The media may be in the news. June 8, Mercury squares Uranus, and this transit can bring unexpected news or news of accidents or unusual weather conditions. An unusual mix of planetary energies.
Mars enters Gemini May 31, for the next 45 days, and Mars rules men and our action. Action may seem a little more scattered and not quite as steady, as Gemini is ruled by the sign of the twins. Like the other planets in Gemini that entered the sign before it, Mars will square Neptune on June 7, and the few days before and after and actions may seem confused, and there may be feelings of discouragement. The Grand trine will help matters some, but in astrology one thing does not negate another.
Neptune Retrogrades
Neptune retrogrades June 7-November 13, and the planet of mystics, cinema, creativity, and spirituality takes a more inward approach. We may become more sensitive over the next 6 months and able to pick up on stimuli we would otherwise not experience, as the retrograde period will make us more sensitive. Boundaries may blur or seem to dissolve. Neptune is the most complex of planets and astrologers refer to it as the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion as in hard angles this is what it is known to create. June 6-7 may be especially confusing days as Mars aspects Neptune's retrograde station exact. Mars/Neptune transits are often associated with lies, hard to diagnose sickness and diseases and plagues, drugs and alcohol, lack of clarity, gasses, chemical weapons, adverse weather conditions involving water, issues surrounding gay rights, scandals, and on the upside it can work for creativity and spiritual pursuits. Make no important decisions until this transit passes.
Drug and alcohol usage may escalate during Neptune's retrograde as can create depression if it is aspecting a personal planet in your natal chart. It will be squaring the natal Neptune of those born November of 1971-October of 1974 this month. Neptune square its own place can create a certain amount of mental fogginess and a desire for seclusion.
Neptune trines Saturn
Neptune trines Saturn and it is exact May 31-June 22, and within 1-3 degrees throughout August. The trine between these two planets is considered a positive angle and will create a focus on reality, giving us the ability to see matters clearly. Perhaps this transit can help restore some calm from the U-P square we have been experiencing full tilt during May. However, both Neptune and Saturn are retrograde, and we may become aware of realities that are not working for us especially during the period Saturn is retrograde. The time for change and forward movement will come when Saturn goes direct on July 8. By this point we should have a clear idea of the changes we wish to implement.
Neptune is Pisces can relate to disease and scientists are warning of the emergence of a deadly new virus. The head of the World Health Organization warned the world May 31, of a new virus, dubbed MERS-CoV, found in Saudi Arabia that has already caused 50 deaths. Look to hear more about this emerging disease. The disease could spread worldwide and was discovered on a trine of the two planets while both retrograde, so it was easily discovered and further research can begin.
Creativity and spirituality may manifest itself in concrete forms during this period but even in a trine with Saturn we must work hard for gains.
This trine between these two giants will become a Grand Trine when Jupiter enters the picture by entering Cancer and creating a trine to both Neptune and Saturn. This Grand Water trine will create a beautiful flow of positive energy July 9-July 27. Grand water trines are known for harmony and flowing energies, and if any of your natal planets are being aspected between 2-8 degrees in water signs, this could bring opportunities and good fortune.
Jupiter enters Cancer
Jupiter enters Cancer June 25, at 9:40 p.m EST creating a shift and change in the planet that rules money, luck and growth. Jupiter has been in Gemini over the past year and considered in its detriment, meaning the energy does not work as well, but it is considered exalted in Cancer and the expansive energy of the biggest planet will become stronger and more evident. As Cancer is ruled by the moon, this placement favors women.
Cancer is the natural ruler of the 4th house of home and family, and one of the most sensitive signs of the zodiac. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, and Cancer rules motherhood and is considered an emotionally nurturing sign, if not emotional, and its ruler is the Moon-the luminary that is constantly changing. Cancer is the most patriotic of the signs and I expect a return to a greater focus on home and family. Motherhood may play a more prominent role in society along with women, and those who work from home. This Jupiter placement favors water signs and especially Cancer. Cancer is a protective sign and it is possible under this aspect some of the less fortunate in our society will receive societal protection of some sort.
The United States in a Cancer country and Jupiter will aspect the nation's Sun along with Venus and Jupiter, the two financial planets late June- early July. The Grand Water trine can only lead to a period of financial improvement as it aspects Venus and Jupiter. It is possible some long sought resolutions to some of the nation's financial woes may occur during this period, but it would be false hope and an inflated sense of exuberance to believe the financial problems are all solved and we will return to the pre 2008 economy. While still in Gemini most of June, Jupiter will aspect the nations moon, and the housing market will continue to improve.
By mid June Uranus is square the US Sun and opposing Saturn, and this will lead to many unexpected and disruptive events. The Uranus-Pluto square will aspect the nation's Sun exact, in 2014 and in April of 2014 whatever resolutions have been found this year will be put to the test as Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto come together in an exact square, falling dead on the Sun in the US chart. This is a harsh transit I will write more about in the future.
Mercury Retrogrades
The planet of communication, speech, and travel goes stationary retrograde June 26 at 9:08 a.m EST. The stationary retrograde period is often where events occur that let us know the Mercurial energy is shifting and glitches start to occur. The shadow period of the retrograde is where we start to notice glitches, have changes of opinion and by this point we should wrap up any, important new business we wish to start before the planet retrogrades. This period is from June 10-June 26. The stationary retrograde period, which is considered one of the most important Is June 26-28. The other important period is the stationary direct period when Mercury begins to move forward, shifting energy once again July 20-July 24. This is followed by another shadow period, where things aren't quite back to normal that will last until August 4.
Mercury retrograde is a period of re-doing, reassessing and reviewing what we have done, not starting new projects. Sometimes we can reconnect with those from the past. There is a karmic quality to a retrograde, and some relationships can reconcile and others break up entirely.
Mercury retrograde in Cancer may be overly emotional for some and hard to handle. We may walk down memory lane a little too often, and events and situations may revolve around family members.
All planetary cycles have their propose and the point of a Mercury retrograde is to reflect, re-organize and re-do. The time for new actions will be after Mercury goes direct again, often with new ideas and direction.
Other days worth mentioning are June 1, the Sun sextiles Uranus and this is a positive transit that can bring ideas and innovations.
A New Moon occurs at 18 degrees of Gemini on June 8. Gemini is about ideas, conversation and expanding our thinking.
June 11, Venus opposes Pluto, and this is an obsessive transit prone to jealousy and intensity. Best let the energy clear before making demands on others. June 12, Venus squares Uranus, and sometimes this transit can coinside with breakups and separations. If it is not aspecting your chart adversely it can represent an exciting time different from the norm, but don't expect permanency. Venus rules love and money.
The Sun enters Cancer and, and the Summer solstice occurs on June 23 at 7:32 a.m. EST. This is followed by a full moon at 2 degrees of Capricorn July 23. Capricorn rules the 10th house of business and important matters
