Here I will use the Venus synodic cycles to illustrate how it works out in the case of the murder of Meredith Kercher.
Meredith Kercher was murdered on the evening of Nov 1, 2007 when Venus was in the Morning star (war-like) position, ie rising before the Sun. Amanda Knox, Raffaele Sollecito and Rudy Guede were all arrested soon after. All three have Venus in a Morning Star position in their birth charts.
Although they were imprisoned, they were not formally charged by the Italian prosecutors until the following July 11, 2008 according to CNN Timeline. On July 11, 2008 the three alleged perpetrators (Knox, Sollecito and Guede) ofMeredith Kercher's murder were officially charged. This happened a few weeks after Venus formed a Superior Conjunction with the Sun at 18 Gemini on June 9, 2008. (See #1 on charts below). Venus was 10 degrees from the Sun on July 11th, becoming visible in the sky again.
Then Venus entered her peaceful Evening Star position until March 2009 when Knox and Sollecito's Murder trial began.
The next Venus Superior conjunction occurred on Jan 11, 2010, at 21 deg Capricorn, again only a few weeks after Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito were officially convicted in court of the murder of Meredith Kercher on Dec 9, 2009 and sentenced to 25 and 26 years in prison during Venus's Morning Star position. (See #2 on chart below). Venus was in her war-like Morning Star position all throughout their trial and subsequent conviction. Venus was still visible on the day they were convicted but by the next day disappeared from the sky as it approached the Superior Conjunction on Jan 11, 2011.

The next Superior Conjunction of Sun/Venus was on August 16, 2011 at 23 Leo. Venus entered her peaceful Evening Star position on this date and a month and a half later, on October 3, 2011 Knox & Sollecito are acquitted and released from prison. (See #3 on chart below) Venus was visible in the sky after Sept 24th when the appeals trial was ending.
Knox and Sollecito return home and proceed to write their books during Venus's Evening Star position. Then Venus entered her Morning Star - war-like position in June 2012. Raffaele released his book at the end of 2012 and gave many interviews pushing his book and claiming his innocence. Amanda waits until the Supreme Court ruling before releasing her book in April 2013.
The next Superior Conjunction following their release was on March 28, 2013only two days after the Italian Supreme Court annulled their acquittal on March 26, 2013. This left Knox and Sollecito back to being convicted and guilty of the crime. (See #4 on chart below). Venus became visible in the sky on May 6, 2013 and Knox & Sollecito began making multiple media appearances to defend themselves.

Knox and Sollecito were convicted of the Murder of Meredith Kercher during Morning Star Venus in Dec 2009 and they were later acquitted and released during the peaceful Evening Star Venus in October 2011.
Currently they await the Supreme Courts ruling on their appeal. Venus entered her Morning Star position on Jan 11, 2014 and the verdict is expected on Jan 30th 2014 while Venus is in her war-like Morning star position.
If the Venus synodic cycles continue to coordinate with the events of this murder case, the next significant date will be the next Superior Conjunction of Sun/Venus on October 25th, 2014 and possibly another event after that the next Superior Conjunction on June 6, 2016.
