Almost every dating and relationship article always references that old mantra "You Must Love Yourself Before You Can Love Someone Else", which can be quite a loaded statement in my opinion. Of course confidence and positive thinking can attract the right people into your life, and by having those two qualities you definitely are loving yourself, but there are also times when those of us who do have someone worthy already in our lives have days where we just do not love ourselves, either because we feel less than our potential, have made a mistake, etc. We certainly do not love our partners any less during those moments though.
However I want you to ask yourself this : Do I Love Myself The Way I deserve to be loved? Do I take care of myself? Do I listen to my feelings, intuition, thoughts? Do I push myself too hard and take myself for granted? Part of loving yourself is treating yourself in the way you would treat someone you were in a wonderful relationship with, how you would want to be treated by your soul mate. Treat yourself as your soul mate. A lot of talk about self love regards taking care of yourself physically such as exercising and eating right, not smoking and drinking excessively, however you need to love yourself spiritually, emotionally, mentally as well. You only have one you! If you believe in past lives then it is especially important that you wholeheartedly love yourself in this lifetime so that you can guarantee you do not carry over self hate and depression into the next lifetime as well.
Just remember, you are a worthy and beautiful soul who is in this life for a purpose and a reason. You are valuable, loveable, worthy, and capable of so many wonderful things. Believe in yourself, love yourself, cherish yourself, and know you are meant to be you and no one or anything else!
