Why I love to give new clients

I remember the future and there are some clients where it's always brilliantly clear, the rest are clear, and once in a blue moon I'll get a call from someone where we just don't fully connect and that isn't good.
It happened the day I first wrote this post. Usually when you get bad feedback, it's because you told them something they didn't want to hear, or because it doesn't make sense to them (as if reality has to make sense) but I never connected with this caller and she hung up and left me bad feedback that I absolutely deserved.

I didn't like it, but she was right, we never clicked. Damn. Times like that you gotta ask yourself, "what's great about this?" Well I figured, what the heck, if I give them their first three minute reading free, then no one is stuck buying a pig in a poke.
So I'm giving 3 free minutes to anyone who hasn't called me before. That way, we can find out if we click or not on the first call and that call can be on my dime.

Afraid I'll drag the call out and the free call will just be a teaser? I'm smarter than that. I build repeat business by cutting to the chase, getting in, helping you, then getting right off the phone. In fact, I have a habit of hanging up while you're still saying bye. Please, don't see that as me being rude. That is not the case at all. I just don't see the sense in clients paying for social pleasantries by the minute. And that's how the habit got locked in.

monka Thanks Lollie - the reading was very good - full of details. The prediction about when he would call me happened before 8 or 13 - he called at 5pm sharp (2.5 hours after our call). And like you said he was in a good mood. It did happen sooner than I thought. Other long-term prediction takes 2 months so I will get back to you on that.
