Feeling Like a Fool?

 When you find out the one you have trusted actually betrayed you, and everybody but you knew what was going on, it adds insult to injury.  You imagine how you must look like the stupidest person to have ever walked the planet.  You cringe when you think what others are saying about you:  “She must be a fool not to have known.”  On top of your broken heart, now your ego is bruised.  

Why would you think that you were a fool for trusting the person who said he loved you?  Trust is not a bad thing and it is definitely not a weakness.  It takes a very strong person to put their heart on the line and trust this person not to break it.  When that trust is betrayed, it is not a reflection of your judgment.  No one thinks that you are a fool for trusting someone, now if you stay in a degraded relationship and keep letting this person hurt you over and over, then maybe you are bordering on foolish.  It’s hard enough to recover from betrayal without adding your own self degradation to the pain!
