I know the universe, the gods, the powers that be like to laugh. We often think we must emulate being spiritual by being serious, intense, all the time, but the deities that have the power to help us like to make us laugh in the middle of the very most serious rigidity. We also want him/her to be very serious as well. We feel everytime we see our love one we must “talk”. We don’t. The higher ups love to have fun, so if we can see the humour in the situation, we feel much better. There was a time when I hadn’t dated anyone in a while. Tired of doing everything by myself, without a real physical companion ( my good thing is I always have someone from the other side around to pester me ) I sat beside the lake, yelled at the sky, I’m going to go out with the next person that asks me. I promise that within 5 minutes, a small wizened bent man walked up. I was in my 30s, I’m sure he was 70 if he was a day. Without preamble, without conversation, the look in his eyes told me he was of the gods, sent to give me a laugh out of a troublesome anguished situation. “ Let’s go out to dinner.” Stunned, I just sat there, then looked. The older man had a big grin, shook his head. Walked away. I continued to sit there, laughing at myself, laughing at the situation, looked up said, you got me. Soon I met a great guy to date. Today as I sit here, watching the littlest 5 pound puppy pretend she is one of the big dogs, I laugh as she tumbles over trying to jump on Cherokee’s back. Without laughter, life is hard. Searching for that one thing to laugh about, to get a grin, as believe me the universe has it for us, is a good puzzle to work. Each day without laughter is wasted as we are not in balance.
Animal totem: Laughing hyena: Bro Hyena has a grin on his face most of the time. His call, his bark sounds as if he is in constant laughing. His totem is one of the god Loki, the god of mischief. When he comes loping into our life, through dreams, or pictures, the zoo, as he is not usually one we see out and about, we know that perhaps we are taking everything too seriously. It is time to look at ourselves, see if we are being too rigid about everything, without allowing for mistakes, for others just being people. Bro hyena reminds us that no one is perfect in actions, but we must remember to look at the heart, as well as their dumb actions. I am here today from about 9 :30 – 1 pm then again from 5 -11 pm. I look forward to sharing with each person spirit sends. I have found spirit sends me the most awesome of people to talk with, to share with, who listen carefully, are brilliant in their faith.
