Part 1
Astrologer NYC
Today we are chatting about Princess Diana born on July 1, 1961. There is some debate over her birth time. Many use the 7:45PM birth time with Sagittarius rising while some, including her former astrologer Penny Thornton said that she was really born at 2:00PM which gives a Libra rising.
I'm going to quote a little from Vivian Robson's book 'A Students Text-book of Astrology"
For SAGITTARIUS rising, he writes " Like a horse, very restless, great talkers, but often tend to stammer or have a slight impediment in speech, fond of walking, and take long strides, head thrown back and arms swinging, particular in over dress, but often careless in handling clothes . . .: "____
for LIBRA rising he writes, " . . .very graceful movements, soft voice, but often with an undertone of petulancy or dissatisfaction, walk with a springing up-and-down movement, handwriting large, rounded and artistic."

I think we both agree that Libra rising is a more accurate description of Princess Diana who was world renowned for her grace and beauty.
Leslie Hale
which chart are we using I like Libra but think its the other because of 8th house
Leslie Hale
ok we'll talk about both..
Astrologer NYC
Besides the Ascendant describing her better, I am leaning towards Libra rising as it shows Venus in the 8th and she had many life/death struggles with bulimia, suicide attempts and she is very famous for her death. Also her resting place is a huge source of revenue, people visit it every year, very beautiful Her sudden death by accident is shown with the T-square with Venus (8) square Uranus and Moon opposing from the 4th and 10th houses - her death certainly upset the country and monarchy.
Leslie Hale
It certainly did. It upset the world, actually. The point in favor of the Sag rising chart as I see it is that it does describe her death. Mars-Pluto would indicate a violent death, which the car wreck was. Furthermore there are those who believe she was murdered, and in many cases I have seen Mars-Pluto involved in murder or violent death. In the 7:45 chart Uranus also lies in the 8th house opposing her moon which could indicate a sudden death. So, while I feel Libra rising describes her personality to a greater degree, those planets in the 8th house certainly describe her death.
Astrologer NYC
This is a difficult choice of times. Sag rising puts her Asc ruler in 2nd which opposes the 8th so has connotations with death. Uranus in the 8th (Sag rising) vs squaring the 8th ruler (Libra rising) can lead to the same accidental death. Libra on MC instead of Asc showing her fame for beauty and grace while in person more Sag. Tough decision.
Leslie Hale
yes, it is. But since we agree Libra is more representative of her personality we will go with this chart today.
Astrologer NYC
Yes lets stick to one chart but leave the door open to Sag rising
Leslie Hale
She has a Venus in Taurus which shows a sensual nature and a love of fine things..
Astrologer NYC
yes
Astrologer NYC
she enjoyed much luxury, beautiful dresses etc
Leslie Hale
Neptune in the first in Scorpio made her somewhat psychic herself and gave her an interest in metaphysics. This is a woman who consulted 2 astrologers and psychics.
Leslie Hale
Neptune trined her sun/mercury as well
Astrologer NYC
she was fascinated by the other side, occult studies also shown by Asc ruler Venus in the 8th house of occult subjects like astrology
Astrologer NYC
Neptune trine Sun gave her glamour and mystique, it also showed in tabloids being fascinated with her. Mercury trine Neptune gave her a psychic/telepathic edge to know what to say to people she met. She knew that she had a talent for meeting and talking to people from various walks of life.
Leslie Hale
she also had a great deal of compassion for others. Part of that was her Sun-Mercury in Cancer, trined by Neptune and another part of it was her Jupiter in Aquarius, squared by Neptune.
Astrologer NYC
yes
Leslie Hale
Jupiter-Neptune transits often show a spiritual side. On the other hand the person can be a bit naive or fall prey to sob stories
Astrologer NYC
yes she was very involved with people who were less fortunate.
Leslie Hale
She fell prey you might say to a few unfortunate love affairs that became public knowledge
Leslie Hale
especially when she was younger
Astrologer NYC
yes it was an intense battle for years between her Charles and Camilla
Leslie Hale
In the Libra rising chart Saturn falls in her 4th house in Capricorn
Astrologer NYC
Difficult family life but a long legacy
Leslie Hale
That fits as well. Saturn in the 4th would show a dedication to home and family but difficult
Leslie Hale
Which is what her marriage was-a constant battle with Camilla
Astrologer NYC
She never really had a happy home
Leslie Hale
Not only that, her early upbringing was difficult as well
Astrologer NYC
yes her parents divorced and it was acrimonious
Leslie Hale
She stated many times she was scarred when her Mother left the family home. This gives credence to this chart and the fact her moon in Aquarius opposed Uranus. This can also indicate a somewhat changable family situation throughout her life, issues with women, and and changeable/volatile emotions, at times. The emotional volatility was reported many times over. Sometimes this transit shows anxiety.
Astrologer NYC
She was scarred as a Cancer would be under those circumstances.
Leslie Hale
In those days women did not have the rights they do today. She (the Mother) was married to a powerful man who got his way. She was basically banned from the family home
Astrologer NYC
Mars rules 7th, Charles, conjunct Pluto and sextile Neptune, deceptive husband
Leslie Hale
yes, it was deceptive from the start. Or it certainly seems that way, and she stated this many times
Leslie Hale
But, the most striking aspect in her chart is the Mars-Pluto conjunction in Virgo, in this case falling in the 11th house.
Astrologer NYC
and Mars in his derivative 5th, he was only out for his pleasures, affairs and children
Leslie Hale
Mars-Pluto confers determination, but it is a very difficult transit
Astrologer NYC
power struggle for his affections (his 5th is his love)
Leslie Hale
Pluto also rules sex, as does Mars
Leslie Hale
a volatile combination . . .(continued)
