Steven Benner, a leading Geochemist, lends credence to the theory that substance necessary for formation of life on Earth could only have come from the 'Red Planet'.

If you look at your bottle of multivitamins, you will see Molybdenum--an essential element in Human nutrition that is not fully understood.

It's more than that though.  Molybdenum does not exist in it's natural state on Earth.  Thus, begins a long journey through the Interplanetary space according to the theory.
Through asteroid impacts or volcanic activity, the element came to early Earth.

This element would have been necessary to help get life established on Earth; as it came to Earth highly oxidized.

"The evidence seems to be building that we are actually all Martians; that life started on Mars and came to Earth on a rock," Benner said, speaking at the Goldschmidt 2013 conference in Florence, Italy.
If our hypothetical Martian ancestors had remained on Mars, there might not have been a story to tell."
