Lost and Found - Magical talisman to bring back a lost lover

"what has been lost, and was found, is saved from being lost again." Saint Augustine.

Does your heart yearn for a lost lover?  If so, here is how to make your own talisman designed to return your love to you.  This will work equally well for anything that has been lost, whether you are looking for a particular object, trying to regain the wonder and enthusiasm of youth, a forgotten talent, or a beloved pet.

This sweet pendant is built almost entirely upon objects which were lost, but have now been found again. Every piece that went into the making of Lost and Found, from the battered metal car to the adorable dancing bear to the tiny little paper and metal bone, has a story of it's own. Together, they form a charming assemblage of power and hope.

I decided to test Lost and Found by asking it to help me find an amber ring that had been missing for almost 8 years. I had a vague idea of where it might be, but no longer had access to that space. And it worked! My daughter found the ring at her father's house a few days later and brought it to me.

What you will need to make one of these yourself is objects that have been found - either by you or by another person. The watch face and bone charm were found by a friend who was out for his daily walk. The car and dancing bear were items another friend lost when she was a child and then found again many years later. The key came from my husband and once opened a door far away in England. The antique button fell off someone's clothing and turned up again in my garden. The mother of pearl pieces are from a broken and scattered earring I found in the street.

Once you have assembled enough formerly lost items, you will need some modern findings. Most craft stores carry scrap booking supplies and that's where I found the filigreed base that  supports the rest of the pieces. A few cogs, some jump rings, jewelry glue, and you're done. You will also need needle nose pliers for the findings and toothpicks to apply the glue.

The next step is to lay everything out on a table. Arrange and rearrange all the pieces until you find a design that resonates with you. I take my time with this part of the procedure, sometimes leaving it for a week or more. Once you're sure everything is just the way you want it, start gluing the pieces together one layer at a time. If you know how to use a soldering iron, that's even better. Keep your intention and purpose firmly in mind while putting your new amulet together.

Now it's time to charge your talisman by lighting a white candle and some incense. Lay your talisman on top of a piece of paper upon which you have written specific instructions as to the purpose of this amulet. Be as clear as possible. Allow the candle and incense to burn out completely. Tuck the piece of paper away somewhere safe - in case you want to refer to it again. Dispose of the candle wax and incense ash and sleep with your amulet next to your bed for three nights.

The amulets I make are designed to be worn, but that's not necessary. You could display yours in your home, tuck it away in a jewelry box, or carry it in your purse. All that matters is that you keep it close enough for the magic to work.

Have faith, stay strong, know that love will return.
